Your script,
without the queue.
Scrypt-O turns paper prescriptions into verified digital ones — checked by a pharmacist, quoted by pharmacies — then your medicine.
It starts as paper.
Paper tears. Ink fades. Scripts get folded into pockets and forgotten in drawers — and the medicine never happens.
You queue holding a piece of paper, and if you lose it you start over.
Four parties, one piece of paper, four different failures.
The paper prescription is a single point of failure in South African medicine dispensing. Each party carries a different cost.
It arrives as data, not handwriting.
Photograph the script and it becomes a clear, legible digital record. Nothing to retype, nothing to lose.
livestructured, single-use, tied to one patient — dispense state tracked
Specimen A, Specimen B.
The same prescription, seen from the pharmacist's chair. One has to be distrusted; the other has already been checked.
Work from a record, not a guess.
Run your pharmacy on records like this
A pharmacist signs off.
Before anything else happens, a registered pharmacist validates the script, medicine by medicine. Machines move the paper out of the way; the pharmacist does the verifying.
liveno script is marked verified until a registered pharmacist signs it off
Verification before dispensing, not audit after payment.
What the product literally is, in the order it actually happens on the working platform.
The first door for each side of the network:
Your script should make the day simpler, not add another queue.
Scrypt-O makes managing your prescriptions simple. No more lost paper scripts, long queues, or missed doses. Upload your prescription, choose your pharmacy, and watch it move to ready — all from your phone.
Skip the queue live
Send the script from your phone. Collect without waiting, or have it delivered.
Free live
Scrypt-O is free for patients. You pay the pharmacy for the medicine — nothing to us.

Reminders & adherence coming soon

Three quotes, one script — before you leave the couch.

Prescribe once. It stays legible forever.
Doctors are next. We're building this with prescribers, not for them — we'll sit down with practising doctors first, and what they tell us decides what gets built.

The problem is expensive. The product already works.
Human verification
A pharmacist checks every script. Machines move the paper out of the way; people do the verifying.
Fraud dies early
Verification before dispensing, not audit after payment — a claim built on a re-used script does not get the chance to exist.
Built for South Africa
Mobile-first and browser-based — no app store, no heavy downloads. Built for the way South Africans actually get medicine.
The category is the enemy: paper script vs Scrypt-O script
| Paper script | Scrypt-O script | |
|---|---|---|
| Legibility | Handwriting, often guessed | Structured data, readable every time |
| Verification | Phone calls, if at all | A pharmacist signs off before dispensing |
| Price transparency | Walk between pharmacies | Quotes side by side, before choosing |
| Re-typing | Every line, at every counter | None — the record writes itself |
| Record trail | Folded paper in a pocket | Single-use digital script, state tracked |
| Fraud window | Detected in audit, months later | Checked before dispensing |
A market this broken is an instruction.
At Scrypt-O, we're digitising prescriptions and transforming how healthcare connects. Paper scripts get lost, delayed and re-typed every day — and the cost lands on patients. Scrypt-O replaces that chaos with a verified digital record linking patients, pharmacies and — next — doctors, in real time. Built for emerging markets first.
Built in South Africa, for the way South Africans actually get medicine.
Scrypt-O started with a simple observation: the most important document in healthcare is a piece of paper that tears, fades and gets lost — and every party pays for it. We are building the record that writes itself.

The fine print, printed large.
Most health sites bury this at the bottom in grey. Verification is our product, so the compliance posture is the pitch. Every row wears its true status.

Asked often. Answered once.
Is Scrypt-O a pharmacy?
No. Scrypt-O is the network. Pharmacies dispense, a registered pharmacist verifies, and Scrypt-O moves the script as data and keeps the record.
What does Scrypt-O cost?
Nothing, for the two live parties. The patient app is free, and pharmacy onboarding is free.
What does “verified” actually mean here?
A registered pharmacist validates the submitted script, medicine by medicine, before quoting and before anything is dispensed. The platform keeps the script single-use and tracks its dispense state. Machines move the paper out of the way; the pharmacist does the verifying.
Can pharmacies quote without checking the script?
No. The pharmacist validation step comes before the quote. Clinical validation remains the pharmacist's responsibility.
Can my doctor send a script straight to the app?
Not yet. Today you photograph the paper script. Direct prescribing from the practice is on the roadmap. roadmap
Can I manage medicines for my family?
Not yet — family management is coming. One account for the whole family's scripts, quotes and reminders is being built now; today the app manages your own scripts. coming soon
What about my medical aid?
You pay the pharmacy exactly as you do today; scheme integrations are not part of the current product.
Which pharmacies are on it?
The founding cohort is forming now — pharmacies join free and keep founding status. Names and a real count publish here when they exist; no number appears before it is true. count publishes when real
Is my data safe?
Your health information is special personal information under POPIA and is treated that way: scripts are encrypted in transit, and every security claim we make must be evidenced before it is published. The trust & compliance register shows the true status of each item, row by row.
Does it work on my phone, on low data?
The patient app runs in the browser on any modern phone. Data-light behaviour is a design target we publish measurements for, not a slogan.
What is NHI, and does Scrypt-O depend on it?
National Health Insurance is South Africa's proposed universal-coverage system. Scrypt-O does not depend on it: the product works with today's dispensing flow, and is built for where SA healthcare is going — digital-first and interoperable — without leaning on anyone's timeline.
When can I download the app?
The product is built and running; the public launch date is not announced yet. The patient app is live at patient.scrypto.online.
Where are the privacy, POPIA and security documents?
The footer shows the intended compliance anchors as labelled placeholders. They remain evidence-required until approved public documents are available.
